Glut of rugby matches in Kandy

Schools ‘A’ Division rugby tournament will kick off with a glut of rugby matches in the hill capital this season leaving the rugby fans the hard decision of which match to witness.

Today-Saturday St. Anthony’s will take on Royal at Nittawela. This match should turn out to be an interesting one with the Antonians led by three quarter Chanaka Wiligampola will have players like Amila Bandara, Tharanga Bandara to deliver the goods.


Speculation

There is also speculation that one of their top players had crossed over to another school in the hill capital. This will be known only today which school be turns out.

At Pallekelle Trinity College will take on St. Joseph’s Maradana.

At the Bogambara Stadium Dharmaraja College are billed to take on St. Peter’s.


Defending champs

Tomorrow the defending league champion Kingswood will lock horns with Mahanama at the Bogambara Stadium. Kingswood will be led by stand off Roshan Weeraratne.
