National Chamber congratulates President
The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) is pleased to
note the greatest achievement by the Government in ending the three
decades long conflict which has destroyed many valuable lives and
properties. The Chamber congratulates the President for his bold
leadership and the courageous decision taken to see an end to this
problem.
We are also thankful to the Government for carrying out many major
infrastructure development projects such as power and energy, highways,
airports and ports which have been a dire need for our economy to take
off amidst the internal conflict and the heavy defense budget.
Due to the long term thinking and plans implemented, the country can
now concentrate on the development work with the availability of
required infrastructure.
Achieving the long awaited peace will encourage the flow of foreign
direct investments to the country mainly into the North and East which
have been neglected for a long period due to the conflict.
It is high time that we enjoy this victory effectively by working
hard thereby contributing to the country’s economic development so that
we can be an economically sound united Sri Lanka.
Now that we have achieved permanent peace, all of us should get
together and support the Government’s economic development program for
the benefit of our nature, NCCSL President Lal de Alwis said. |
