UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon while welcoming President Mahinda
Rajapaksa's call for National Reconciliation, stressed that it was time
to heal the wounds inflicted on Sri Lanka by the decades old conflict,
and the United Nations was ready to help in any way it can.
Addressing the media at Queen's Hotel in Kandy on Saturday evening,
the UN Chief said: "We are here at a defining moment in Sri Lanka's
history. A long and terrible conflict has come to an end. Now is the
time for the Nation to unite to build just and lasting peace". |
