On tracking down terror:
Sri Lanka - Australia reach consensus

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Sri Lanka Police and The
Australian Federal Police (AFP) on combating Transnational Crime
including Terrorist Offences and Developing Police Co-operation was
signed recently in Colombo.
On behalf of the Sri Lanka Police, Inspector General Jayantha
Wickremaratne and on behalf of AFP Australian National Security Deputy
Commissioner Andrew Colvin signed the MoU.
Realizing the cross-border criminal activities between Sri Lanka and
Australia may pose a threat to the stability and security of the people
of the two countries. Recognizing the need to strengthen international
law enforcement cooperation at all levels in combating transnational
crime including terrorism in a comprehensive manner, both countries,
inked the MoU.
Major issues under the MoU are Terrorism and all forms of illegal
activities leading to terrorism, illicit drug and people trafficking,
transnational sex offences, cyber crime, money laundering, transnational
economic crime and asset tracing, identity fraud, illegal firearms
trafficking, and sea robbery, kidnapping and other issues as mutually
determined by both participants.
