Minister Dodangoda, a model for future generation - PM
Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake in a condolence message on
the death of Minister Amarasiri Dodangoda said the services rendered by
the late Minister have set a model for the future generation of the
country.
"The death of Galle parliamentarian, Minister of Justice and Legal
Reforms and Vice President of the SLFP, Amarasiri Dodangoda has
immensely saddened me and is also a great loss to the people in the
South in particular.
Late Amarasiri Dodangoda was a strong political leader who devoted
his time for social justice and democracy in Sri Lanka.
This silent man, having been nurtured from the Peradeniya University
education and also from the Socialist block, was a strong force in
political activities.
The historic victory he achieved as Chief Minister of the Southern
Provincial Election which spearheaded the downfall of the then UNP
regime in the country turned out to be the beginning of the present
victories we enjoy today. Minister Dodangoda pioneered this epochal
change.
"Despite the fact that be is no more with us today, the services he
had rendered are ideal models for the future generation. |
