Thurstan crush Zahira 44-10

Thurstan College maintained its winning streak when they beat Zahira College by 44 points to 10 in their under 20 Division 1 segment 'B' match played at Police Park. Thurstanites collected their points through 4 goals 2 tries and 2 penalties, while Zahira College only managed to score their points through a goal and a penalty.

Both teams fought hard in the first half and the winners were leading at 15 points to 10 at the lemons. Thurstan lads came back strongly after the short whistle and displayed great skill as they played clean and hard rugby to win the game with a huge margin.

For Thurstan captain cum flanker Chandana Pushpakumara, Anjana Chamikara, Jayasanka Perera and Ishan Samarakkody scored a try each while the wing three quarter Gayan Lasantha scored two superb tries and fly half Kanishka Dilshan converted four and also he contributed by putting over 2 penalties for the winners.

M.R.M. Anaz scored the solitary try for Zahira and M.R. Rizni converted and later put over a penalty.
