Sixteen teams for Kandy schools Under-15 hockey tourney

Eight boys schools and eight girls schools teams will vie for honours at the annual Kandy Schools Girls and Boys Under-15 hockey tournament organized by the Kandy District Schools Hockey Association which will be worked off shortly.

Former Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka Schools Hockey player Padma Nawaratne now holding the post of Chairperson - Tournament Committee of the Kandy District Schools Hockey Association said that the teams have been grouped as follows:

Girls - Group 'A': St. Anthoy's Girls College, Pushpadana Girls College, Hemamali Girls College, Seetha Devi Balika Vidyalaya 'B'.

Group B: Seetha Devi BV 'A', Girls High School, Gothami BV, Swarnamali BV.

Boys - Group A: Trinity College, Kingswood College, St. Sylvester's College, Dharmaraja College 'B'.

Group B: Dharmaraja College 'A', Menikdiwela Central College, Sri Sumangala College, Vidyartha College. A notable absentee from this tournament is one of the leading girls schools in the hill capital Mahamaya Girls' College.
