Muslims should thank President - EPC Minister

"The Muslim community should be thankful to President Mahinda Rajapaksa for eradicating the three decades of ruthless terrorism from our motherland" said Eastern Provincial Council Road Development, Irrigation, Housing Construction, Rural Electrification and Water Supply Minister M. S. Uthumalebbe.

He was addressing a religious ceremony organised to invoke blessings on the armed forces and the President for successfully wiping out the menace of terrorism, at the Addalaichenai Divisional Secretariat recently. He further added that Prabhakaran had betrayed the Tamil community and destroyed their future. He had killed a large number of children, women, and the elders who were innocent civilians.

"We already know that the President had the will and capacity to defeat terrorism. We believe that the President would definitely solve the issues of minority communities."

This is the time we need to work together for the future of this country.

The OIC of Akkaraipattu police, STF representatives, the clergy from three communities were among those present.
