Kurunegala crush Matale by 127 runs

Kurunegala District crushed Matale District by 127 runs in their Inter-District Under-19 Cricket Tournament match played at Welagedera Stadium, Kurunegala recently.

Helped by a superb innings of 73 from Maliyadeva College cricketer Gayan Manishan Kurunegala reached 246 for 7 from their 50 overs. Matale could only manage 119 for after batting 42.3 overs.

Kurunegala District: 246 for 7 in 50 overs (Gayan Manishan 73, Nimna Karunaratne 30, I. Idiresinghe 48 n.o., D. Mahawatta 21, R.P. Kellepotha 4 for 29).

Matale District: 119 in 42.3 overs (L.S. Jayatilake 25, M. Jayaratne 31, W.D. Danushka 2 for 9, Dushan Asoka 3 for 16 and Nuwan Alwis 2 for 17).
