Mubarak - lucky to be in the team
I think Jehan Mubarak is the luckiest cricketer of all time, of all
the international cricket playing countries in the world.
I say this because he continues to be in all Sri Lankan national
cricket teams over the last several years, although he has easily the
worst performance of all international players. Can someone please give
us his career batting stats (matches, innings, total score, not-outs and
averages, respectively, for ODIS, 20-over games, and test matches) at
international level?
Mubarak is no bowler, and his fielding is quite ordinary, so we have
to judge him entirely on his batting record, which is dismal - to say
the least.
If we fail to win the 20-over ICC championship it will be due
entirely to the pathetic failure of our middle order batting; Mubarak,
Chamara Silva, Mathews at alia. Chamara Silva has in recent games
demonstrated a vast range of shots.
That is the sweep shot to practically every ball he has faced, and
which every time brings about his cheap dismissal for under eight runs.
Cannot he push the ball to the off or between mid wicket and long on
just for a change?
