Army records sixth win

Sri Lanka Army Sports Club cruised to their sixth victory when they defeated Sri Lanka Navy Sports Club by 25 points to 13 points in their SLRFU Caltex inter club A division league rugby tournament second round match played at the CR and FC ground in Longden Place yesterday.

The winners collected their points from two goals, one try and two penalties after having taken a close 8-6 lead at half time. Navy SC responded with one goal and two penalties.

Centre Asanka Perera, flanker Jayaratne and number eight Dinesh Suranga scored a try each for Army SC with fly half Kapila Knowlton converting two tries and also put over two good penalties.

Second row forward Shehan Deen scored the solitary try for Navy SC and full back Nuwan Hettiarachchi fired across two penalties. (C.D)
