Development prospects in Uva-Wellassa
Nadira GUNATILLEKE reporting from Badulla
All the local and International portfolios I received for the benefit
of the public, accordingly a building complex worth Rs.500 million was
constructed for Badulla hospital with the assistance of WHO funds and it
will be handed over to the public soon, Healthcare and Nutrition
Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva said.
He said President Mahinda Rajapaksa will open Uva University on
August 5, built at a cost of Rs. 2,000 million.
A new bus stand, 26 km road network, SPC outlets and many more
facilities have already been provided for the Badulla district.
The development took place because the people of Uva-Wellassa voted
for President Mahinda Rajapaksa in 2005.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa established friendship and close
relationship with the Arabic world and the Muslim community long time
back and it is not something done in the recent past. Only he had the
courage to condemn bombing in Islamic countries.
He liberated the Muslim community in the Eastern Province and they
have been re-settled in their original homes.
According to Minister Silva some announcers in certain television
channels want the Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry to check the quality
of every single tablet before issuing them to patients and they demand
such hilarious things because they do not have an iota of brain or
general knowledge.
The public should not be misled by the fabricated stories publicized
by certain media groups and persons on the State Pharmaceutical
Corporation (SPC), Which is the only State institution to offer the
drugs for people with the best quality and the lowest price.
