Navy Commander Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe made the first official visit to Mullaitivu last Saturday. He inspected several strategic locations along the coastal area and discussed with Navy officials to provide security and constant patrolling along the sea belt in the North and East. He also discussed with the Army Commander and top officials with regard to security on the land area. The Navy Commander also visited the Farah III ship sunk by the LTTE and also participated at the Guard of Honour accorded to him by the Army. Both the Navy Commander and Army top officials exchanged mementoes on this occasion.


Navy to delist deserters

Sri Lanka Navy has obtained the approval of the Defence Ministry to delist Navy deserters without subjecting them to punishment from Navy tribunal.
