Swimmer Chethiya tests positive

Chethiya Wijeratne of Navy Sports Club has been tested positive for prednisolone - a banned steroid while taking part in the National Age Group Swimming Championships trials at Sugathadasa Stadium pool from July 9 to 11, 2009. At the trials he finished third in the 50 metres free-style.

When contacted NAASU Interim Secretary Kiran Atapattu confirmed that Wijeratne's urine sample was tested positive at WADA ratified laboratory.
