Monthly medal golf tourney on September 19

Good fare is in store when the Annual Monthly medal of the Victoria Golf and Country Resort is worked off at the picturesque Victoria Golf Course at Rajawella off Kandy on Saturday - September 19, commencing at 7.30 a.m.

A large number of golfers are expected to participate in this monthly championship. Some of the top golfers who are expected to enter the fray in the competition for men are Sam Gunaratne, Sujeewa Lankatillake, Sirath Kasthuriratne, Chamil Wickremasinghe, Ravi Mediwake, Ian Tait and many others.

In the competition for ladies it will be a three cornered battle between Sonia Boyle, Linda Harris and Jyoti Haynes. If Suwen Selvaratnam and Manori Jayakody enter the battle, they could well take away the honours.

Victoria Golf and Country Resort in a bid to attract golfers has made a magnanimous offer of a liberal discount to their members who wish to occupy the luxury chain of chalets which overlook the golf course. The occupancy of the chalet is offered at Rs. 1,600/- which is inclusive of a sumptuous breakfast. this is one of the never to best offers which had been offered by the Golf Club and he members are expected to make use of it.

The golf course is in topping condition and the fairways has been well maintained.
