Strengthening of brotherhood during Ramazan |
It gives me a great pleasure to
send this message of greetings on the important occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr-Ramazan festival. This Eid is not only an occasion for
enjoyment for all Muslims who had observed fasting for the month of
Ramazan but also the day Allah (SWT) rewards them for the sincere
obligations to Him. The message of peace, tolerance and patience was no
doubt a practical reality while helping the Ummah in practicing the
Commandments of Allah (SWT) and the traditions of our beloved Prophet
Muhammed (Sal). At a time when the whole world is in tribulation,
Ramazan has conveyed to the world the significance of peace and unity
laying stress on the caring for others and less fortunate. I wish to
express my warm and sincere Ramazan greetings to every member of our
community to enjoy a peaceful and eventful Eid-Ul-Fitr. - M.H. Mohamed,
MP, Minister of Parliment Affairs
Ramadhan - a month of patience and forgiveness
Ramadhan Festival message by Alhaj A. H. M. Fowzie,
Minister of Petroleum and Petroleum Resource Development
Muslims throughout the world celebrate today as the day of Festival
of Charity, the Eidul Fitr. To a pious Muslim this day marks the
completion of a full month of fasting as ordained by Allah. Fasting
rekindle in him the feelings for his fellow being and makes him more
charitable.
Ramadhan has also been a month for forgiveness, patience, generosity
and humanitarian deeds. Above all it is a month to seek protection,
guidance, strength and support of Allah towards peaceful life and the
successful attainments of our goals. Now that the three decades of blood
spilling terrorism has ended we must thank Allah and resolve to work
hard to turn our motherland a land of peace prosperity and development.

Devotees in worship |
As patriotic citizens of the country every Muslim, in his prayer
today seeks Allah’s blessings for the protection of our country from
natural hazards and from men with evil minds; and to make it a stronger
Nation to be able to face all challenges.
As Muslims, it is our belief that, unfailingly, Allah grants our
pleas if we ask for it with true piety and purity of heart, if only we
have obeyed his commands and observed the fast during the Holy Ramadhan.
Our main task ahead of us is to achieve national peace and to create
an environment that people of all communities are ensured adequate
safeguards to their life, property, dignity and honour, besides
facilitating the fulfilment of our goals.
In order to achieve this it is essential that we take care to
maintain internal unity of our Ummah shunning trivial differences and to
act in unison with regard to matters affecting the community and the
country.
On this day of Eidul Fitr, I appeal to my Muslim fraternity to
rededicate themselves with newer energy gained from dutiful submission
to Allah and to resolve to meet the challenges of the future.
I convey my sincere greetings to all my Muslim brothers and sisters.
Eid Mubarak.
The blessed month of Ramadhan
S. Ayesha Yusuf
As we reach the end of the Holy Month of Ramadhan, the blessed month
of peace, and mercy of Allah, we have to remind ourselves of our
obligations to the Lord our Creator and Sustainer.
Fasting was prescribed for man that he attains Taqwa. It is the month
of sincere repentance whereby we seek forgiveness for our past sins. Let
us strive to fast in complete submission to our Lord, and rediscover our
lost faith, whilst also seeking his help, to live as he has ordained for
us always, and not only in this sacred month.
Repentance has a status, that does not exist with any other form of
worship.
Allah loves those who repent, and diligently seek purity.
This is the month of endurance, that also brings Paradise within
man’s reach. Fasting or Saum, one of the five pillars of Islam is a
shield that protects man, and makes him aware of his obligations, and
also enables him to control his desires. It distances man from the fire,
for fasting comes between man and the fire.
Every action of the son of Adam is given manifold reward, each good
deed receives ten times its like, upto seven hundred times.
Allah says “Except for fasting, for it is for me, and I will give
recompense for it.” (Muslim).
The Glorious Quran, that came as a guidance to mankind was revealed
in this Holy Month. Clear proof of guidance and the criterion of (right
from wrong) are also part of the revelations that follow. So “whoever of
you who sights the crescent moon, on the first night, he must fast that
month.” (2-185).
“O ye who believe, Fasting is prescribed for you, as it was
prescribed for those before you, that you may attain right
consciousness.” (2-183)
Fasting enables man to master himself, and resist the cravings of his
inner self. Instead of being a slave to his desires, he finds
contentment, and inner peace, with the knowledge, that all this and
fasting is for Allah’s sake.
Allah does not impose hardships on man for he knows his ability. In
Surah Mulk Allah says: “Should he not know, he that created” (67-140) he
understands the finest mysteries, and is well acquainted with them.
It is the month that enables Muslims to strengthen their faith, and
increase their practices in meritorious deeds. We have to keep in mind,
that fasting in Ramadhan does not mean to only abstain from food and
drink, from dawn to dusk, but also to control our tongue and actions,
devoid of evil deeds and speech. As we fast we come to terms with the
pangs of hunger, the poor experience in their daily life. If we fast in
its true sense, we can get its benefits, both spiritually and
physically. It is for our well-being that Allah prescribed the fast in
this Holy Month.
To Muslims, fasting is restricting the consumption of food and drink,
as also our desires.
The Holy Prophet explained the excellence of fasting, and said, that
when man fasts his sins are forgiven through this blessed act of
worship.
“On no soul doth Allah place a burden grater than he can bear. It
gets every good that it earns, and suffers every ill that it earns.”
(2-285).
Hope it was a peaceful and blessed Ramadhan for the Muslim Ummah.
Prayers for economic growth
M.I. Ahmed Kabir
Let us all pray together that our country to achieve economic growth,
says Minister of Co-operatives, Najeeb A. Majeed in his festival
message, celebrating “Eid-ul-Fitr”.
He further says that we should determine to adopt the lessons that we
learnt through fasting during the month of Holy Ramadhan, throughout our
life at all circumstances.
The Al-Quran of Allah is a source of great strength to the Islamic
life and faith.
The life of Prophet Sal following the tracks of Quran has been very
exemplary.
We should also lead an exemplary life, practising the values of Islam
from this day onwards.
Today, we have been liberated from the grip of war. Though we have a
certain amount of relief, we should pray that our community to be
entirely freed from poverty.
Further our community is in confrontation within them because of
petty policy differences. Let us come out of this with the grace and
teachings of Allah.
Imperialists are in the forefront to destroy us.
Let us pray to Allah that their attempts and plots become futile,
abortive, shattered.
Also let us pray that we all in our country to lead a peaceful life,
sinking the religious and race differences on this happy day of Ramadhan.
Greetings to all for a happy “Eid-ul-Fitr”. |
