Muthuhettigama bail application rejected
Mahinda P. Liyanage Galle Central Special Corr.
Galle Magistrate Chamara Tennakoon yesterday rejected an application
for bail filed by UPFA Galle District candidate Nishantha Muthuhettigama
who was remanded by him the previous day on alleged charges under
Section 146 of the Criminal Code.
The application by way of a motion was submitted by lawyer Mapalagama
Wimalarathne on behalf of the remanded candidate.
In response to the pleas in the application, the Magistrate told
Court that he found no special ground to grant bail for the accused.
The case will be called on September 28 as fixed earlier.
