Brothel raid nets 13

A special Police team under the directive of SSP I.M. Karunaratne on Wednesday raided a brothel at a Shopping Complex in Kollupitiya and nabbed 13 suspects including two males.

According to Police spokesman Senior DIG Nimal Mediwaka, investigations are being conducted by Fort Police station. Meanwhile, Kegalle Police on Wednesday nabbed a suspect involved in a number of thefts and burglaries. The suspect was in possession of a Gold chain, a necklace and a ring at the time of his arrest.

Police on the information given by the suspect during the interrogation found a revolver hidden in a house in the Bakamuna Police division. They also recovered jewelery he had hidden in a house in Pannapitiya. According to Police sources the jewelery is valued at over Rs. 1.5 million.
