Bogus kachcheri raided

Central Province Anti-Vice Squad raided a bogus kachcheri at Aniwatte, Kandy and arrested a person who was allegedly involved in producing false certificates, official documents and national identity cards. Police also recovered a stock of fake birth and death certificates, educational certificates, official seals of Government officers and several false documents from the premises.

They also included forged documents meant for Grade One school admission for next year.

Police said that the suspect was allegedly involved in several criminal activities including the acceptance of Rs. 3,000 to turn out a forged national identity card from a certain person.

Central Province Anti-Vice Squad is conducting investigations.
