A storm in the Vanatha area on Rubberwatta road in Gangodawila yesterday evening had damaged 30 houses and a couple of vehicles parked in the area.

The roofs of some houses were blown 50km-100km away and many house hold items were damaged as a result.

Meanwhile, many trees were uprooted in several areas while a large jak tree had fallen on the roof of a house.
