Ranjith Zoysa acting CM
Sabaragamuwa Provincial Health Minister Ranjith Zoysa took oaths as
the acting Chief Minister of the Sabaragamuwa Province before
Sabaragamuwa Governor Janaka Priyantha Bandara.
He will act for Chief Minister Maheepala Herath until he returns from
a tour of Vietnam.
Help sought
Five year old Tharusha Kavindu Nandasena of Andarawewa Road,
Kumbukgahawewa have Atrial Septal Defect is recommended an early
operation to remedy the defect by Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist,
Lady Ridgeway Hospital, Colombo Dr. Duminda Samarasinghe.
The operation will cost Rs. 175,000. Child’s father Siril Nandasena
is a farmer and says he cannot afford it. He requests early attention of
donors to help him collect this sum.

Commemoration Lecture
The Congress of Sama Samaja Youth League will hold a commemoration of
Che Guevara and Prof. Senaka Bibile at the Dr. N.M. Perera Centre,
Borella on November 5 at 4.30 p.m. Dr. Nirmal Ranjith Devasiri, of the
Colombo University will deliver a lecture on “New Dimensions towards
anti systemic Politics”.
The Cuban solidarity website will also be launched on the occasion.
Aesthetic unit opening
The Aesthetic unit of De Mazenod College Kandana will be opened at
7.30am on Thursday November 5.
Director in charge of aesthetics unit in the Education Ministry
Thushara Gunathilaka, Premachandra Lankathilake of the Zonal Education
Office and Rev. Bro. Denzil Perera, Director of the Group of La Sallion
School will grace this occasion.
Buddhist talk
Ven. Dr. Maimbala Dhammadassi Thera will deliver a public Buddhist
talk in English on ‘Buddhism and Morality’ at a meeting of the Servants
of the Buddha Society on Saturday, November 7 at 4.30 p.m. at Maitri
Hall, Lauris Road, Bambalapitiya. All are welcome.
Dhamma sermon
Ven Galigamuwe Gnanadeepa Thera will conduct a Dhamma sermon and
meditation program on November 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the All Ceylon
Buddhist Congress Hall, Bauddhaloka Mawatha. All are welcome.
