Dravid, Dhoni tons save tottering India
Rahul Dravid and Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit
centuries as India brushed aside a stunning start by Sri Lanka’s
new-look pace attack in the first Test here on Monday. Left-arm
seamer Chanaka Welegedara grabbed three wickets in his first four
overs and Dammika Prasad took one to reduce India to 32-4 within the

Intl’ Schools basketball semi finalists found
The quarterfinals of the Under 19 International
Schools Basketball Championships for boys and girls organized by the
British School in Colombo got under way yesterday. In the first
quarterfinal Lyceum Nugegoda - the defending champions beat Lyceum
Wattala 58/33. Lumal Zoysa scored 18, Angelo Jayasooriya(13) and
Inzamam Hassim (10) for the winners while Minusha De Silva (15),
Supun Nirmal (9) and Gayanga Vethanage (7) top scored for the
losers.

Bens win Schools Division I title
St. Benedict’s College, Kotahena came up with
fine display of football to beat the defending champions of the Milo
Trophy Zahira College, Colombo two goals to nil at CR and FC ground
yesterday in front of a very appreciative crowd. Bens were leading
at the half way mark 1-0.
