* Air Chief
Marshal W.D.R.M.J Goonetileke was born on February 28,1956.
* He completed his education at St Peter’s College,
Bambalapitiya. He is the elder son of the 5th Commander of Air
Force Air Chief Marshal Harry Goonetileke.
* Air Chief Marshal Goonetileke joined the Sri Lanka Air Force
as an Officer Cadet in the General Duties Pilot Branch on
January 13,1978. |
President Mahinda Rajapaksa has appointed Air Chief Marshal Roshan
Goonetileke to perform the duties and functions of the office of the
Chief of Defence Staff, Secretary to the President Lalith Weerathunga
told the Information Department website yesterday.
Goonetileke has been given the new appointment in addition to his
current post as the Sri Lanka Air Force Chief. |
