Water cut today

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board has announced that a 24-hour water cut will be imposed in the following areas from 9 am today up to 9 am tomorrow to carry out essential maintenance service in transmission main at the area around flyover work site, Orugodawatte.

The affected areas are Maligawatte, Mahawaththa, Base Line Road, Bloemendhal Road, Sangamitta Road, New Chetti Street, Maha Vidyala Mawatha, Central Road, Vivekananda Mawatha,Wolfendal Mawatha, Jinthupitiya and Wellampitiya, Sedawaththa, Kotiwila in Kolonnawa area.

An official from NWS&DB told the Daily News yesterday that similar occasional water cuts could be possible in the future too till the completion of Orugodawatte fly over and the public will be notified in due course.
