People should respect law and not fear it
Law and politics have one thing in common -
people. Through good laws politicians as legislators create the
framework for a just society in which people can live, work and
prosper, while lawyers apply and interpret the laws, so that
fairness and justice prevail. Under these circumstances, citizens
will have confidence in the law and justice system. It is important
that people should respect the law and not fear it.

Second South Asian Conference of Science and
Technology:
Creating knowledge-based South Asia
The second South Asian Conference of Science and
Technology Ministers will be held in Colombo on November 23 and 24
attended by Ministers and officials of Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan,
Bangladesh, Maldives, Afghanistan, Nepal and Bhutan. This conference
will be of great significance to the entire South Asian region
including Sri Lanka because development in all parts of the world
today is knowledge based.
