Defence Secretary acknowledges crucial role played by Signals’ Corps

Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa acknowledged the crucial role played by Signallers during 30 years of combating terrorism; especially in the last 4 years. He paid tribute and valued his young officer days’ seniors in the Signals, who instilled in him certain personal qualities such as integrity and teamwork that he believes to have positively influenced his military career and civilian life too. He also assured the continued State involvement in rehabilitation of service personnel wounded in action and the welfare of family members of the fallen heroes and the serving military personnel.

Housing project for disabled War Heroes

The National Housing Development Authority with the assistance of Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council has launched a program to build houses for disabled War Heroes in the Ratnapura and Kegalle districts the Oceanview Development Institute has also came forward to take part in the project.
