CPC schools close today

Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake said all schools in the province will remain closed from today as announced earlier.

The circular to close these schools from November 23 to 27 has already been sent to schools in the province.

A further decision to continue the closure or reopen these schools will be made after studying reports on the spread of this influenza disease, the Chief Minister said. The decision to close these schools was made on the recommendations of the provincial health authorities.

“We are collecting data from Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Matale districts. If there is an improvement, the schools will be reopened from November 30,” the Chief Minister said.
