Ministry support for hospitals run by Armed Forces

The Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry has planned to launch a special
project to upgrade all hospitals run by the Armed Forces to appreciate
the sacrifices made during the humanitarian operation, a Healthcare and
Nutrition Ministry spokesman said.
At the moment a considerable number of members of Armed Forces
receive treatment from those hospitals. Injured, temporary / permanently
disabled war heroes are among them.
Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva inspected the Diyatalawa Army
Hospital recently and provided modern medical equipment worth Rs.7.5
million as part of the project. The required additional medical staff to
be sent to the hospital shortly. The Diyatalawa Army Hospital will be
upgraded into a fully fledge modern army hospital under the project.
The Ministry has already planned to upgrade equipment of all State
hospitals run by the Central Government and Provincial Councils next
year at a cost of Rs.200 million.
Latest technology and modern medical equipment will be supplied to
those hospitals under this project. |
