Allocation of land at Kurunegala to set up mixed development project

The Cabinet has approved a memorandum submitted by Urban Development and Sacred Area Development Minister Dinesh Gunawardena to implement the mixed development project called 'Ethukala City Mall' on a long-term lease upon receipt of approval for the said project from the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka.

Appointment of delimitation committee for the establishment of new Divisional Secretary's Divisions, gazetting of the Divisional Secretary's Divisions which have already been established and establishment of Grama Niladhari Divisions and revision of existing Grama Niladhari Division

The Cabinet has approved a memorandum submitted by Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister and Deputy Finance and Planning Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama to make recommendations to the establishment of new Divisional Secretary's Divisions, revision and gazetting of the existing divisions, revision of existing Grama Niladari Divisions and Establishment of new Grama Niladhari Division and to appoint 13 member committee

It is expected to appoint Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry Additional Secretary S. K. Weerathunga as the Secretary of the Committee.


Amendment to Employees Provident Fund Act No. 15 of 1958

The Cabinet has approved a memorandum submitted by the Labour Relations and Manpower Minister Athauda Seneviratne to amend the provisions of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Act relating to recover procedure to the proposed amendments and to refer the proposed amendments to the Legal Draftsman to draft the law including consequential amendments.


Construction of a secretariat building 'Surekum Piyasa' for the Employees Provident Fund

The Cabinet has approved a memorandum submitted by Labour Relations and Manpower Minister Athauda Seneviratne to amend the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Act as suggested by the Attorney General granting powers to the Monetary Board to invest monies of the EPF Fund for purchase of land, construction of buildings, purchase of plant and machinery and for the procurement of goods and services for the benefit of the employees with the concurrence of the Minister in charge of the subject of Finance and the Minister in charge of the subject of Labour.
