President: The chosen leader - Minister

No individual could pose a threat to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at
the forthcoming Presidential election, Plantation Industries Minister
D.M. Jayaratne said .
He added that as per his knowledge of politics, leaders were created
only through political parties but not by cult of personalities.
He was speaking at a media conference at Galle Face Hotel on
Wednesday to explain the progress gained during the past four years in
the plantation sector. “Nobody can challenge President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
President Rajapaksa is a leader who had been chosen by the people
through a people’s political party, SLFP,” Minister Jayaratne said.
“President Rajapaksa is the only President who was able to end the
three- decade old terrorism. His brave mission over terrorism is
appreciated by a majority of the people. This is more than enough for
being selected for the next Presidentship,” Jayaratne said. All
patriotic elements of the country should rally round the UPFA to defeat
opponents of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, he said.
