Chandrasekeran’s wife extends party’s support to President

Up-country People’s Front President and wife of late Minister P. Chandrasekeran, Shanthini Chandrasekeran extended her party’s support to President Mahinda Rajapaksa. She and her party men met the President at Temple Trees on January 12.

Shanthini Chandrasekeran said her party was always a disciplined one.

A healthy environment always prevailed for criticism and constructive alternative views.

She said the late leader had informed all members to support President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the forthcoming Presidential Election.

Although the campaign was stopped for 16 days to pay respect to the late leader, it would begin on Saturday, she said.

According to UPF sources, President Mahinda Rajapaksa has appointed Shanthini Chandrasekeran as the authorized officer of the Community Development and Social Inequity Elimination Ministry as well as a Presidential Advisor.
