Rehabilitated LTTE cadres released

Nearly 56 LTTE members who had surrendered to the Security Forces and were undergoing training at Senapura Rehabilitation Camp, Welikanda were released yesterday.

These former LTTE suspects were earlier attached to LTTE camps at Mullaitivu, Jaffna, Vavuniya, Trincomalee, Mannar and Batticaloa areas. They were made to undergo training at the rehabilitation centres where they learnt the art of welding, woodwork, plumbing and computer technology for one year.

They were handed over to their relatives and parents yesterday at the Senapura Rehabilitation Centre at a ceremony presided over by officer- in-charge of the centre Major P.B.J. Suraweera.
