Adeesha puts Nalanda in command

A splendid all round performance from Sri Lanka youth player Adeesha Nanayakkara helped Nalanda College take control over Mahanama on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which commenced at Campbell Place yesterday.

The medium paceman captured five wickets for 21 to bundle out Mahanama for 187 runs in their first innings despite a sparkling unbeaten 92 from Indunil Kumara who collected his runs from just 66 balls with six sixes and eleven boundaries. Middle order batsman Nanayakkara then went on to hit an unbeaten half century as the Nalandians built up a good first innings lead scoring 232 for 6 in reply.

Thomians bundle out Cambrians for 150

S. Thomas’ College put up a tremendous performance to dismiss their opponents Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa for 150 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which commenced at Mount Lavinia yesterday.

Opener Niroshan Dickwella hit a top score of 94 with one six and 12 boundaries as Trinity College Kandy piled up a formidable 301 for 9 in their first innings on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match against St. Anne’s College which began in Kurunegala yesterday.
