Opposition in disarray

The main Opposition alliance of political parties the UNP, JVP, SLMC and TNA who were together in the recent Presidential election split into more than two groups yesterday. The UPFA remains the strongest political party now.

General Elections: 29 Independent Groups pay deposits

The Janasetha Peramuna led by Ven Battaramulle Seelarathana Thera yesterday handed in nominations for Kurunegala, Puttalam, Gampaha and Colombo districts while two independent groups handed over their nominations for the Batticaloa and Nuwara Eliya districts yesterday.
