Toshiba’s Computer Systems Division (CSD), a division of Toshiba
Singapore (Pvt) Ltd appointed Abans [Pvt] Ltd as their new distributor
in Sri Lanka and introduced a new range of products for Toshiba Notebook
laptop family last week at Galle Face hotel. Toshiba South Asia Regional
Headquarters Regional Manager Dickson Poon said, “At present Sri Lanka
is progressing towards prosperity.
It’s distinctive that the country’s economy is growing very fast.
This year our sales are growing and continue to increase our market
share also. These factors have strengthened our confidence to expand
business in Sri Lanka.”
ABANS was selected for their wide retail coverage and excellent
post-sales services in the local market, he said.
He said, “Being a global brand, our decision to expand the network
with two distributors would certainly help to boost the Toshiba Notebook
brand in Sri Lanka to a wider pool of consumers”.
ABANS Director Behman Pestonjee said, “This partnership with Toshiba
is hugely exciting and will further entrench us in the local market.
This also fits in with Toshiba’s retail channel strategy to bring
Toshiba closer to our customers. Being one of the more preferred popular
notebook brands in Sri Lanka, Toshiba aims to achieve 100 percent
year-on-year incremental unit shipment by end 2010.

its award-winning Notebook, is built for comfort and style. This series
