Opposition, a bee-hive sans queen bee - Transport Minister

Transport Minister Dullas Alahapperuma at the opening. Chief Minister Shan Wijaylal de Silva was also present

Today the opposition is like a bee hive without the queen bee and all the workers there, are badly disintegrated, Transport Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said. Addressing a ceremony after opening the Dikwella Pradeshiya Sabha building complex constructed at a cost of Rs. 50 million on Friday, Minister Alahapperuma said politicians like Ranil, Sampanthan, Mano Ganeshan, Hakeem and Mangala Samaraweera who closed in around the bee hive had left it as soon as Sarath Fonseka was arrested and added that others such as Anura Kumara and Wijitha Herath were still clinging onto it with tears in their eyes.

These people will drop their child onto Kaluganga on April 8th, Minister said.

It is the objective of the President to transform Sri Lanka as a model and wonderful country by the end of his tenure in 2017.

The UNP claims that Sri Lanka’s economy collapsed every time the SLFP came into power. This is a total myth just like the one which said the LTTE was invincible. President who destroyed the LTTE myth can comfortably rebuild the country’s economy.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa brought his Mahinda Chinthana concept at every election. However, the UNP changed their concepts with several titles such as regaining Sri Lanka, Janatha Nyaya Pathraya, Wiswasaneeya Wenasak etc between 2005 to 2010. However, the people are highly knowledgeable about these UNP myths, the Minister said.

The present preferential voting system is the bane of the country. The President has already taken a firm decision to abolish this system, he said. Chief Minister Shan Wijaylal de Silva, provincial councillors, pradeshiya sabha chairmen, members and large number of people from the area were also present.
