Create employment in North East -World Bank

Agriculture, tourism policies will materialize peace dividends:

Sri Lanka needs to understand the expectations of the people in the North and East and implement policies to create employment in those areas to enjoy peace dividends, a World Bank official said. World Bank Country Director for Sri Lanka and the Maldives Naoko Ishii launched the World Bank Regional Update in Colombo yesterday.

Talents to be future driving forces

Many organizations now have given priority to identify ‘multi talents’ in individuals and ‘talent’ will be the defining force in years to come, said Director Asia Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (ACIPD) Jerry Conners. He was speaking at the inauguration of International HR conference 2010 organized by the Institute of Personal Management (IPM) yesterday at Waters Edge. The theme of the conference was ‘Motivating Economic Optimism’.

DFCC accelerates with increase in profit

Profit at DFCC Bank and Group showed healthy increases to Rs 1713 million and Rs 2684 million for the Financial Year ending March 31, 2010 up by 26 percent and 30 percent respectively from the previous year.
