Fowzie leaves for Italy

A delegation led by Disaster Management Minister A.H.M. Fowzie left
for Italy yesterday to attend a field exercise on Emergency Disaster
Management to be held from June 16 to 19 in Rome and Bologna.
Media Spokesman for the Disaster Management Ministry Deen Ahamed said
the Minister, the Ministry officials and several District Secretaries
left for Bologna, Italy to participate in the three-day event.
The field exercise was organized by the Civil Protection Department
of the Government of Italy.
AGM
The One hundred and sixth Annual General Meeting of the St.
Benedict's College Old Boys' Union will be held on June 20, at 10.30
a.m., preceded by Holy Mass at 9.30 a.m., at the College Hall. The
fellowship lunch will be held soon after the AGM at the OBSC premises.

Drama competition
The National Level English Langauge Drama competition postponed due
to inclement weather will be held at Thurstan college Colombo on June
19, 20, 26, 27.
Hotline to receive land complaints

The Agriculture Ministry will introduce a hotline to receive
complaints about illegal land fillings, Minister Mahinda Yapa
Abeywardane told a press conference at the Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian
Research and Training Institute. Land fillings have affected the
environment resulting in floods and other issues, the Minister said.
Musical show
‘Sanda Diya Dothak’ organised by the students of the Colombo Musaeus
College. Creative Forum will be held at the John de Silva Memorial Hall,
Colombo on June 18 at 2.15 p.m. |
