New products target hotels, overseas buyers:

4Ever Skin Naturals opens new plant

Cosmetics manufacturer 4Ever Skin Naturals has commenced the second phase of its manufacturing plant in the Pallekelle BOI Zone with an investment of Rs 228 million recently. The expansion to the plant will create over 300 employment opportunities. The investment for first phase was around Rs 100 million with an employee base of 30 in 2006. Currently, there are over 100 employees at the Kandy factory.

The company will introduce a anti-oxcide and anti-cancerous liquid tea for Sri Lanka in the brand name of Dioli.

It is also expected to introduce aleo vera, carrot and other herbal drinks to the country in the future, Chamway, CEO, Chandani Bandara said.

4Ever Skin Naturals has understood the United States Russia, Ukraine and Japan as potential markets for new liquid tea products and herbal drinks. “We will be producing these herbal drinks with scientific methods to preserve the natural ingredients in them.

We have imported new machinery from Japan with an investment of Rs 25 million.

We have been using 90 percent of local raw materials for our cosmetics products and we needed to add value to orthodox tea exports of the country,” she said. The company has planned to expand the distribution network with 1,000 added to 30,000 outlets at present.

It is also expected to increase the number of islandwide agents to 20 from current number 16. “We are currently manufacturing 50 products at the manufacturing plant in Kandy.The company encourages the cultivation of Aloe Vera and has been able to help farmers in rural areas by providing facilities for them to cultivate Aloe Vera” Bandara said.

4Ever products are exported to Maldives and Asian countries while there presence in Jaffna and Trincomalee districts.

“We are catering the North and East market with Kohomba Kaha range in Jaffna to which there is a huge demand, Chamway COO, Priyantha Abeyratne told Daily News Business.

The plant is equipped with latest lab facilities and machinery to get natural extract from raw material for cosmetics products,” he said.

New products in the range of hair care, bodycare, hair colouring, colour cosmetics and a herbal soap for the mass market in the country will be soon introduced by 4Ever cosmetics.
