ComBank rewards MoneyGram recipients

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon recently conducted ‘MoneyGram Customer Weeks’ at its branches in the Jaffna Peninsula, Colombo North and Vavuniya to reward MoneyGram recipients.

Accordingly, all customers who received MoneyGram remittances during the promotion period were presented with special gift packs.

The Commercial Bank signed up with MoneyGram, the global funds transfer company in 2007 to further enhance the bank’s market share in the remittance business and to expand its presence to the other parts of the world, especially North America and Western Europe.

Commercial Bank offers remitters the ability to transfer funds quickly from over 180,000 locations in 190 countries and for payments in Sri Lanka to be collected at any of its 181 branches. An important benefit of collecting payment through Commercial Bank would be that these funds can be collected even on holidays.

Hatton National Bank PLC (HNB) opened the 190th Customer Centre at the new Kandy City Centre (KCC) recently. The customer centre is located at Shop No. L1-16 on Level One at the Kandy City Centre. This is the second HNB customer centre in the Kandy town. The Kandy City Centre (KCC) is poised to become a popular shopping mall in the Central Region and is situated at the heart of the Kandy city with easy access from any part of the town.

The new HNB Customer Centre at KCC will provide extended banking hours on seven days of the week from 10 AM to 6 PM. The new Customer Centre was opened by HNB Human Resources and Administration Deputy General Manager, J R P M Paiva.

 

 

 


Union Pasalen Karaliyata Season 3 now on

Union Assurance recently launched an all-island aesthetic competition and cultural show named Pasalen Karaliyata, comprising folk dancing, singing and art competitions held in collaboration with the Education Ministry for the third year. This initiative was designed to identify and recognize the innate talents of gifted schoolchildren around the country and foster the development of local dance and music.

The Pasalen Karaliyata cultural show will be conducted in the North and the East for the first time this year.

Over 50,000 children from over 19 districts have participated in the competitions over the years. The theme for this year’s Pasalen Karaliyata is Yahapath Purawesiyek bihi kireeme Jathika Mehewara and building a respectful citizen is the objective of the program.

Each year the program concludes with a national cultural show attended by top officials from the Education Ministry and senior management from Union Assurance.

The award distribution also takes place simultaneously.

The Pasalen Karaliyata program came with rewards for the winners and the schools they attend. The first, second and third place winners received awards for their achievements and their school were also awarded.

Bartleet Finance opens in Batticaloa

Midea CFL awarded SLS certification

LIFT celebrates tenth anniversary

The Lanka Institute of Fashion Technology (Pvt) Ltd. (LIFT) will celebrate its tenth anniversary and Graduation Fashion Show at Hilton-Colombo on July 29.
