Trial-at-Bar begins hearings

The Trail at Bar consisting High Court Judge Deepali Wijesundera (Chairman), High Court Judge W T M G B Warawewa and High Court Judge Kumudini Wickremasinghe, commenced hearing the Angulana Police Station double murder case.

Former OIC Angulana Police Station Inspector D Newton, Police Constables G I Kumarasiri, Nihal Jayarathna and Reserve PC Janapriya Sumanaratna are charged with abducting and killing two inmates of Angulana Polce station. The two inmates are Dinesh Tharanga Fernando and Danushka Udayakantha Aponsu.

Former Police Driver attached to Angulana Police Station N M Rohana Bandara Navaratna testified before the Trial at Bar. Further hearing will resume August 25.
