Eco-friendly trash incinerator invented

An Eco-Friendly Trash Incinerator is invented as a model product to
dispose trash including municipal waste. This has been designed by
Gunatunga K. Liyanage and was constructed by LH Piyasena Group of
Companies.
A ceremony to introduce this machine was held last Wednesday in
Nawala with the participation of Water Supply and Drainage Minister
Dinesh Gunawardena and Environment Deputy Minister Faiszer Musthapha.
Around 12 truck loads of trash were inserted into this machine on this
occasion.
"This invention completes combustion which is assured through suction
of partly burnt gases back to the flame thereby completely burning all
the materials. A flame introduced from outside is enough to initiate the
combustion process.
The possibility of generating power by this process is also been
studied," said Liyanage.
He said that the top of the machine is covered and shaped like an ice
cream cone enabling trash to gradually go down. "Even non biodegradable
items can be inserted into this machine.
Therefore, it does not need to separate household trash. Bio gas
generation is also not much popular due to the high cost of digester and
unpleasant and unhealthy maintenance.
I hope this innovation will be successful and provide a solution to
trash disposal" he mentioned. Further information can be obtained from
