CEAT Awards a prestigious event - Sangakkara

Ceat awards can be recognized on par with the most prestigious award
ceremonies in the world said Sri Lankan Captain Kumar Sangakkara at the
official press conference regarding the second CEAT Sri Lanka Cricket
Awards presentation to be held on Monday 4th October at Waters Edge.
Sri Lanka’s cricketers who have brought fame and glory to their
motherland and kept fans at the edge of their seats over the past year
with scintillating performances on the field, are to be honoured in gala
style at the event.
He also mentioned that we want to become the best team in the world
with the best players and award ceremonies such as these instil
confidence among the players.
In a message read out on his behalf at the event, D. S. De Silva
Chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket said: The support of CEAT has enabled Sri
Lanka Cricket and the Players Association to raise
the profile of the awards night, and give the event the prestige it
richly deserves.
CEAT is a brand that has been associated with cricket at
international level, for many years. We welcome the company’s commitment
to our cause, and greatly appreciate its valuable
support to the annual awards event.
At international level, awards will be presented for the best batting
and bowling performances in Tests and One Day Internationals, as well as
for the Emerging Player of the Year, Best International Women’s
Cricketer of the Year and Best Junior Player of the Year.
Three giants of the game, Sanath Jayasuriya, Chaminda Vaas and
Muttiah Muralitharan are to be presented with special awards upon their
retirement, while five past cricketers are to be felicitated for their
lifetime contributions to the game.
A total of 61 awards spanning 16 categories are to be presented at
this dazzling event.
