Ridhmi TT champ in the making

Eleven year old Ridhmi Dhananjani Karadanarachchi of Mahamaya Girls College, Kandy, is a champion in the making at table tennis as her performances show.

Her crowning glory was in the year 2008 when she was ranked number one in the island in the under 10 age category when she won the under 10 national singles title as an eight year old at the All Island Table Tennis Championships organized by the Sri Lanka Table Tennis Association and held at the S. Thomas’ College gymnasium at Mount Lavinia.

Her other top performances in the recent past has been when she won the under 12 girls singles title and doubles title at the Kandy District Open Ranking Table Tennis championship 2010 organized by the Kandy District Table Tennis Association at the National Institute of Co-operative Gymnasium, Polgolla.

Her other achievements have been Girls under 12 singles champion and girls under 15 doubles runner-up at the Kandy District Table Tennis Championship organized by Kingswood College, Kandy.

She was first coached by Mahinda Ellepola who became the national Table Tennis coach. Her present coach is Buddhika Dikkumbura.
