TRC welcomes complaints about service providers

The Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC) requests Internet users to direct any complaints on Internet speed to them, a TRC official said.

"The TRC is monitoring the Broadband Internet Speed on a daily basis. Internet service providers have sometimes failed to provide Internet access to the speed they promise. Initial discussions are currently taking place on this issue with Internet service providers," he said.

He also said that the Commission has provided guidelines to the service providers on the information they should reveal to the consumers when providing Internet services. This information will also be displayed on the websites of the service providing companies.

"Necessary measures will be taken against the service providers who fail to provide the promised Internet speed to consumers. This would ensure consistent Internet speed," he said.
