Gas find:
More drilling needed - Cairn India
Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Sunday
said natural gas has been found off the Indian Ocean island nation
in the Mannar Basin, in a well. Cairn India Ltd. said that it
requires more exploration to see if it is commercially viable.
Cairn, a subsidiary of London-listed Cairn Energy Plc , said the
find was Sri Lanka’s first confirmed hydrocarbon discovery.

FCCISL, ILO re-launch Kilinochchi Chamber
“All the business activities in Kilinochchi
district will bounce back to normalcy in the coming two years,”
Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Sri Lanka
Immediate Past President Kosala Wickramanayake, said. “Things are
moving in Kilinochchi and the government is infusing a large sum of
money to rehabilitate the damaged business places. It is apparent
that there will be more opportunities for the business community in
the Kilinochchi area in the near future,” he said.
