The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited with the sponsorship of the Water Supply and Drainage Ministry launched the Randiya tabloid paper to make people aware of water conservation.

The launching ceremony of Randiya was held under the patronage of Water Supply and Drainage Deputy Minister Nirupama Rajapaksa at Lake House premises yesterday.

Randiya will be published every third Wednesday with the Dinamina.

Deputy Minister Nirupama Rajapaksa said the government has allocated a large amount of funds through the budget to provide water for the people.

'The Water Supply and Drainage Ministry is taking every action to provide drinking water for all citizens in the country, she said.

Lake House Editorial Director Seelaratna Senerath said the tabloid will help provide many solutions for water problems in the country.

Silumina Editor Karunadasa Sooriyarachchi and Dinamina Editor Mahinda Abeysundara also spoke.

Water Supply and Drainage Ministry Secretary Amarananda Abeygunasekera and Water Supply and Drainage Board chairman Karunasena Hettiarachchi also participated.
