President’s track record in governance:
Second year of 2nd term paved with success
President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s second year after
being re-elected for a second term in office has been the most
significant in terms of economic progress in the country. During the
year, Sri Lanka's per capita income rose over US $ 2,000, placing
Sri Lanka in the mid-income level country status for the first time
in its history.
