Prices of bakery products to be increased

The price of all bakery products will be increased by Rs.5, The Bakery Owners Association told Daily News.

President of the Association N. K. Jayawardana stated that the Nation Building Tax has been increased through the budget and if the government does not provide a concession through the budget the price of bakery products will be increased from next month.

However, the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) had not been informed about the price increase by the Bakery Owners’ Association.

The CAA recently announced that raids will be conducted if the Bakery Owners Association increase prices of bakery products without any prior notice.
