UIA cuts over to new passenger service, revenue management systems

To support rapidly expanding business operations and offer passengers a vast selection of travel options and opportunities, Ukraine International Airlines have successfully cut over to Amadeus Altea Passenger Service System and PROS Origin & Destination Revenue Management System. Completed on October 23, 2016, transition became the landmark of the airline’s development.

The introduction of Amadeus Altea advanced technology solution from Amadeus, the global travel industry provider, allows UIA offering passengers diverse fare levels, as well as a vast selection of additional services, namely pre-paid baggage exceeding the standard free baggage allowance, pre-paid onboard meals, seat selection, etc.

Moreover, by migrating to the PROS O&D cloud platform, the carrier will gain greater and faster access to PROS’ ongoing innovations, enabling it to efficiently and consistently expand the value of revenue management solutions across the company.

“Due to joint efforts of the UIA and partner teams, within short time frames, we managed to implement the unique and large-scale project of migrating to the new platforms, - noted Sergey Fomenko, UIA Vice-President Commerce. - Currently, UIA is the only carrier in Eastern Europe that has simultaneously launched such complicated passenger service and revenue management systems. However, these activities are both feasible and well timed. The changes will enable UIA to efficiently respond to dynamic market environment, boost business operations, and offer better service to our global customers.”

The cutover to the new systems will technically enable UIA to execute its ambitious business plan to boost network operations. By 2021, the carrier expects to enhance its fleet up to 91 aircraft, increase passenger traffic, and carry over 20 million travelers annually.
